Pitch - Question 6

We went into a HMV store and asked a member of staff a few questions regarding music and Dub-step in particular. (We could not record for copyright reasons)

The member of staff was 26 years of age. Although he does not listen to Dub-Step, he told us that there has been no progression with Dub-Step and the genre "came out of nowhere", having said that, it is becoming very big in the United States. Additionally, he said that Dub-Step is targeted mainly towards young and under-privileged people and these are usually youths who can relate to the upbringing of the artists as the artists themselves want to show young people that they build their career up from almost nothing this can inspire them in some ways. However, the member of staff from HMV said that in his opinion this genre of music becomes a bit of a cliche because now, almost every young male under privileged person wants a career in music.  He also told us that music from the official charts sell the most in HMV.
