Labrinth - Earthquake fits under the Dub-step, Electro, Grime genre. This music video has influenced our planning in terms of editing and mise en scene as we specifically like the effect which almost shaken's the screen as a beat drops. We thought that this would be suitable for our music video as the beat kicks in and the pace rapidly increases. Additionally, there is a low camera angle shot throughout the video that gives Labrinth the power. In our video, we want our performer to be shot from a high angle to portray his lack of power and his distressed emotion.
Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (US Version) falls under the pop and RnB genre. Despite being a completely contrasting genre to our chosen genre of Dub-Step, I found that the mise en scene/location in this music video is very impressive. The back drop behind Leona is Times Square in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. In our music video, we want to shoot in several different landmarks in London for example, one quite similar to Times Square would be Piccadilly Circus.
Kayne West - All of the Lights is under the hip hop genre. It has inspired us as we want light and coloured lights to be very prominent in the video to fit in with the rapid pace. Light is interpreted in several different ways through text, props, effects in this video and it has shown us the different angles we can take to achieve something similar so we will be adapting these ideas into our music video.
