The simplicity of the video allows the viewers to just focus on the artist instead of focusing on the glamourisation of the music video. This is a clever way of promoting the artist. The location and setting of the music video reinforces this. Also, I think use of close ups and extreme close ups are good ways of showing and promoting the artist as the viewers will have to look at her face. Emeli Sande's hairstyle is bold, stands out and is very recognisable and therefore this makes a statement and makes her unique.
